One of the main themes in BDSM is communication but what happens when you’ve played with someone for years and you’re sure you know the answers without asking the questions? This total breakdown in communication has Karen searching in the vanilla world for what she thinks she wants and Parker letting her explore while he deals with unexpected jealousy. The emotional roller coaster has you wanting to shake them at times and hug them at others. Though set in the world of BDSM, the underlying problem can be seen in any type of relationship. I loved the caring, support and characters. This story shows Ms van Yssel’s skill as a storyteller. This story does seem to be part of a series but don’t let that stop you from picking this book up. It definitely stands alone and will only whet your appetite for more of Ms van Yssel’s books. You’ll soon see why she is one of my must read authors.
Karen wants it all; a husband, kids and a home. As she looks around her life and life style, she sees lots of Doms she likes to play with, some good friends and a Saturday afternoon with Parker. None of which will get her to her goal. So, Karen looks to online dating sites hoping that maybe someone in the vanilla world will be able to be the one. Parker doesn’t know why it bothers him so much that Karen is looking at other men. It’s not like he doesn’t play with other women. All he knows it he doesn’t like it. It’s been suggested that me might be feeling jealousy. That couldn’t be it, could it?
For years Karen has gone to Parker’s home every Saturday afternoon to be tied up, spanked, and aroused by the masterful Dom. She loves being his toy, but it’s all just play. While Parker loves to play with her body and her mind, he’s too good a man to play with her heart. And getting too wrapped up in one person would make it harder to have fun kinky times with others. But now Karen wants something more than a reliable top. She wants love, like her friends Craig and Alicia have, and a future with someone, even if she has to give up kink to get it.
Parker can see Karen drifting away from him. He knows she’s searching for something he’s not providing. For years Karen has been his rock--way more than a plaything. He wants what’s best for her, and if that’s not him, he has to accept it--unless he can change her mind, or they can change together.
