Rafael is the Alpha of his pack and very proud of his heritage and his duty to his pack, to keep them safe and to hold up their laws. So when he sees his twin brother under the influence of a slayer who has seduced him and made his brother want to take her as his mate, which is against their laws, Rafael does the only thing he knows how to do...he gets rid of the problem.
Now the only problem is that their laws have turned the tables on Rafael and now he must turn over his mate, whenever he picks a mate, to his brother as retribution for his crime. No one believes him of this woman being a slayer as there was no body to be found, so no proof, only brother against brother's word.
Years have went by and Rafael still holds to the belief that he did the right thing, even if the Council can't see it that way. He has refused to take a mate as he doesn't want to condemn an innocent woman to death. But his luck has changed, and his mate just pretty much fell into his lap. He saves her from a slayer, and ends up feeling things for her that he has never felt before.
He wants to mark her as his mate so bad, but on the other hand is so afraid as he doesn't want to lose what he has just found.
Falon was adopted and doesn't know who her real parents were, but when she finds out that the head of the slayers has the same last name as her, she can't help but think that maybe she is a slayer as well. She is falling in love with Rafael though, even though she didn't want to and found him to be brutish to begin with and bossy. But how can she commit to a life with him, knowing how he feels about the slayers and how it is against their laws to mate with a slayer, when she may be a slayer herself.
The ensuing journey takes you on a wild ride on the back of a supped up Harley and takes you too many dangerous places. Will these 2 come out the other side stronger in their love for each other and ready to commit to a lifetime together? Or will the answers Falon seeks destroy them forever?
I really loved this fascinating paranormal world. I got drawn in and now I'm waiting for a whole lot more. The way this book ended leaves you looking for more chapters. I found out on the author's website this is the start of a series, but it would be nice to have seen something on the jacket stating it was part of a series, or even like some authors do and post a sneak peak at the next one in the back of the book. As it is now not having anything on the book stating it is going to be the beginning of a series I was left hanging at the end, wanting to know the rest of the story.
A captivating paranormal from a rising voice in erotic romance.
As undisputed Alpha, Rafael must choose a life mate to preserve the dominance of his Lycan pack. He never suspected his mate would be a human, the same wounded girl-woman he seduced from the brink of death.
Falon is a dangerous combination of Lycan and Slayer-bred to destroy his kind. She's also a mesmerizing beauty whose sensuality tempts the warrior to take risks. Surrendering to their primal heat could destroy them both...for a vengeful foe awaits to take what is rightfully his by Blood Law.
