A Fair Cop

Rosemary Laurey gives readers a fast and fun fantasy. Jump right into the action as it doesn’t let up until the very end.

Ella is an interesting leading lady whom I found oddly endearing with her prim and proper teacher exterior and the secret self she keeps well under wraps until she is thrown in to a world she’s not sure she even believes in. Sam is a practically perfect hero, a good guy with bad boy mystique. The setting is fantastic and one I’d love to visit again, especially if all the men are as sexy and engaging as Sam. I also enjoyed the fact that while there were vampires and werewolves in this story the author also included some other paranormal beings.

While I enjoyed the story and loved the characters and the world this author created I guess I felt a little cheated that perhaps I missed out on something fabulous. While I enjoy short stories I felt as if this one could have really been spectacular had it been longer.

Book Blurb for A Fair Cop

Nipping back into school for forgotten papers didn’t seem such a risky activity for teacher Ella Carrack. But this night is different when she walks right into a turf war between two local gangs—the Wolves and the Vamps—and ends up in grave danger.

Enter police officer Sam Willard, who proposes an outrageous and completely unprofessional means of saving her life. He succeeds…oh boy, does he succeed.

However, being rescued is just the beginning. Ella has become thrown into a world of the paranormal…and nothing will ever be the same again.

Publisher’s Note: This story is currently in another publisher’s print anthology titled, After Hours.

Blush sensuality level: This is a suggestive romance (love scenes are not graphic).
