Ms. Alexander penned a good read within these pages. We found out that Emily was completely in love with Simon, but no matter how much she loved him she had problems when it came to their sexual relationship…or lack thereof. She was raised with extremely strict parents who continually put harsh thoughts into Emily’s impressionable head that sex was disgusting and she shouldn’t be involved in it at all. Poor Emily internalized this advice and unfortunately, it had made a permanent issue in her life now being with Simon. No matter what they did to help Emily get over her issues, it just didn’t work. I felt so bad for Simon and I could clearly see he was at a point in his life where he realized that even though he loved Emily with all his heart, not being able to have sex with her was really taking its toll on their relationship. I felt bad for Emily as well because she wanted to please Simon, but just couldn’t get past her hang-ups. I thought this was a good story and I really enjoyed the ending Ms. Alexander wrote.

Emily and Simon are truly in love with each other, but because of the lack of having sex, their relationship is beginning to really suffer. Throughout their time together, they’ve tried numerous things to get Emily over her sexual insecurities, but nothing seems to help. Unfortunately, their relationship is at a crossroads and they have to come to terms with what they need to do moving forward. Can Emily learn to get over her hang-ups before she loses Simon for good? What is the last thing that Emily tries to do for Simon to let him know that she doesn’t want to lose him?

Book Blurb for Unwrapped

The best part of the holidays is unwrapping the presents.

Emily would love to heat up Simon’s Christmas with more than just hot chocolate and roasting chestnuts. But their bedroom might as well be the North Pole, thanks to her tendency to freeze at the threshold of sex. They both sense her hidden sexual side—the trick is letting herself be as naughty as she is nice.

The strain on their relationship is beginning to show, and if there’s to be any chance of a New Year’s kiss, she’d better figure out how to make merry—fast. Starting with a few lessons in lust. Then giving Simon the perfect gift by showing him just how naughty she can be…
