Avery is so focused on her revenge, she can’t see what it’s doing to her. When her son dies from a drug overdose, she focuses on the dealer for her revenge. While yes, he supplied the drugs, it was her son’s friends who spiked his drink twice, which caused his death. But with her focus clear, Avery totally changes her life and identity in her quest. Frustrated that the police, including her ex-husband Mason, have failed to put the dealer away she’s taking matters into her own hands.
Unable to comfort one another after their son’s death, Mason and Avery drifted apart until Avery filled out the paperwork to make it official. Mason never stopped loving his wife, and is determined to find her and figure out what she’s up to two years later. His shock at discovering her plan is quickly replaced with one of his own that will save her from certain death, andhopefully revive their relationship. But drug dealers aren’t the forgiving sort, and Avery’s target is turning the tables.
What a curvy road revenge is. A formerly happy housewife turns into a femme fatale in her quest for maternal justice. While she’s seducing the drug dealer’s twin to get closer to her target, she doesn’t take into account the damage she’s doing. Big mistake. Fast moving and exciting, the one drawback for me was the insistence that they never did anything but missionary during eighteen years of marriage. Really?! That was a bit hard to swallow and really distracted from the adventuresome sex, rather than enhancing it. At least for me. Avery was the alpha of the story for me. Her strength and determination were awesome. Mason made all the right noises and moves, but wasn’t as convincing for me. I wouldn’t kick him out of bed, though. A good read the some sharp edges.
Wrapped in red-hot lust for revenge, Avery plans to murder the man responsible for the death of her son. Her plan is tragically destroyed when her ex-husband kidnaps her, taking her to the rustic Canadian cabin where they once honeymooned.
Mason is fighting for Avery with everything he’s got. Armed with whipped cream, handcuffs and his undying love, Mason vows he’ll make her love again.
With one searing touch, Mason crashes through the icy walls of Avery’s heart, melting her defenses and making her burn with sinful sensations. But if their son’s killer gets his way, Mason and Avery’s newfound happiness will be over before it’ barely begun.
