Shadowed 3: I’ll Be Damned is a superb short story that reels you in and does not let you go until the very last word. The attention to detail in the story and the characters that inhabit them are richly drawn with enough emotional gravitas that quickly connects you to the characters. Sinister and Jayden work well together from the moment that they meet on the page. Jayden is tough, independent and capable of getting through any tough situation that you place in front of her. I liked the secondary and tertiary characters as they add layers to this short read. The only criticism that I have is that this story is too short. Any fan of paranormal erotic romance will enjoy this story.
When your name is Sinister there are certain expectations that you are required to live up to, but Sinister plays by his own rules. He is a natural trickster with a need to cause slight annoyance, but no real harm, to his victims, which is not good enough for his bosses. Forced to go to Earth by his devious minded superiors he has only 30 days to cause as much pain and suffering as he possibly can, or he will suffer the worst possible tortures before being annihilated in a dark pit in hell. When Sinister witnesses a crime being perpetrated against Jayden he makes an already bad situation worse for himself: he helps the private investigator. He is instantly attracted to the elusive investigator and is willing to do anything to get her to trust him- even if it means that he has to trick her into believing that he is something that he is not. Falling in love was not a part of his plan, but Sinister and Jayden are willing to do anything to keep what they have from being taken away. Will this young couple be able to fight off his superiors or will Sinister end up being consumed by the awful fires of hell?
Sinister is a demon who has never lived up to his name. He’s mischievous at his absolute worst, but that’s not good enough for his superiors. They send him to Earth on a mission -- to wreak havoc. Sinister knows this is the end of the line for him. Unless he shapes up, he’ll be tortured and cast into oblivion. But when he finds a beautiful private investigator in trouble, instead of making the situation worse, he helps.
Jayden is used to working on her own, but she ends up with a rather strange guardian angel, one she can’t help loving.
Sinister knows that a demon impersonating an angel must be breaking some cosmic rule, but that’s the least of his worries. By loving Jayden and surrendering to his good side, he has sealed his fate and will be destroyed by his hellish masters. Can they find a way to save a demon with an angelic soul? (55p)
