What I got out of this story called, “Vanilla” is there is a time to move on and to accept the changes that occur in your life. Megan Hart’s story is just as well written as her other stories!!! The story flowed well and has good detail in a variety of areas in the story. I was surprised to find out how dominate the men were in this story and how that worked with Estaban versus Niall. They were two completely differently men who wanted different things from Elise, but some of the same things. I have read stories where women are dominate in a sexual relationship and sometimes the stories are not always easy to read or desirable to me. I found that “Vanilla” was again well written. It told how Elise dealt with life day to day. How she was in her relationship with each men.
I did not always like Elise as a character. I did not like her with Estaban, but she was OK with Niall. It blew me away with what happen between those too!
I loved how Elise was with her nephew and brother. She was supportive and loving. She was an absolute a blast with her job and associates, which would have been fun to read more about. In the end, I think it was an eye opener when you wouldn’t have thought so at the beginning.
I am giving this story 4.5 stars because I thought the author handled the subject with class. She wrote clearly and I was able to feel what was going on, whether it was Niall and Elise on their trip or Elise nephew feeling lost because his mother was a mess!!! The story was absolutely believable!!!!!
It's an acquired taste…he just has to acquire it
Elise knows what she wants in the bedroom, and she makes sure she gets it. Her thirst for domination has long been quenched by a stable of men only too happy to bow down before her.
But sexual satisfaction isn't the same as love, and she's been burned in the past by giving her heart too freely.
Niall is handsome, smart, successful and sweet—sweet as vanilla. When they meet, their romantic connection is electric, even though he's way on the opposite end of the kink spectrum. Despite how she fights it, Elise falls for him—but how can a relationship work when both lovers want to be on top?
